A silo is a farm structure that helps a family to live off the land, through it's abilities to store grains until sold or eaten. The resilience of this stone silo deserves our veneration. It has likely lasted for a century or more. The fact that it stands, much as it did when it was first erected, is a testament to the craftsmanship of our community's ancestors. It is also a yardstick. When measured against the waning longevity of what is built today, some aspects of our "progress" seems curiously lacking. I'd like to think that somewhere in these stars, fittingly silhouetted like a keyhole, lies the wisdom of times past. It might serve us well, right now.
