Trout Lily on Film

The Story

Trout lily. Petal dragon. A yellow snout craning from speckled wings. Long necked and crooked, roaring wide mouthed it peers down to the crawling things below. A champion of spring. A golden example for the timid creatures that stir. Human’s are not least among these creatures. Our dormant hearts gurgling from winters rest, gulp at the sight of these brave forest flowers. Before tree leaves pop and forest canopies close out the light, springs wild flowers cascade across our woods. Trout lilies are among these beloved flowers, true Michigan heroes.
